QUALIFICATION OFFERED

Most Bachelor's Degrees take three to four years to complete. An honours degree is usually awarded after you complete an additional year over a three-year bachelor's course. A master's degree usually takes two years of full-time study.

However, this is not a strict rule and can differ from one institution to the other.

WHEN AND HOW TO APPLY

You need to start the process at least 5-6 Months in advance before the course start date of an institution, as the processing of the visa has increased by 2-8 weeks we usually recommend you to apply for the offer as early as possible. In Australia, you can apply for a Conditional offer just to secure an offer and then fulfill the requirements of the condition i.e. English Language Test or Final Year Result. The applications of universities are usually paper base available with the agents and many universities offer application fees waiver during the Roadshows organised by various agents

ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA

The general criterion for applying to Australian university are:

Under graduate
  • High-school certificate or 12 years of school education
  • Good academic background with a min 65% or above in class XII
  • Mathematics in class XII as prerequisite [for some science and technology courses]
  • Minimum required IELTS / TOFEL /PTE Academic scores 6.0/90/58 respectively
Post - Graduate
  • Recognised UG certificate or 15 years or 16 years for Engineering and Technology
  • Minimum Required IELTS/ TOFEL / PTE Academic scores 6.5/95/64 respectively
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Resume
  • Relevant work experience[some universities require this for MBA progerammes]
  • GMAT [if applicable]
POST-STUDY RIGHTS

The post-study work visa allows Indian students to work in Australia after completing their studies. Two academic years of study are defined as 92 weeks of study in a course or Course registered by CRICOS. CRICOS determines a standard duration [number of weeks] for each course. Including all holidays, the academic course you require to opt-in Mater level 104 weeks

Students may take longer to complete the course but will only be credited with the number of weeks that CRICOS determines as standard duration. For example, if it takes a student 92 weeks to successfully complete a course that CRICOS says should take 78 weeks, they will receive credit for 78 weeks only.

The only study that successfully completed counts towards the two academic years. Failed subjects will not be considered Students may meet the two-year academic study requirement when completing a course that is longer than two years. For example, if a course is CRICOS registered for 138 weeks [three years] and consists of 24 equally weighted units, two academic years will be met when 16 units of that course have been successfully completed.”

VISA REQUIREMENTS

Previously Australian student visas were categorised into different types based on the level of study. However, this was simplified on 1st July 2016. All international students have to apply for Subclass 500 of the Australian Student visa now. The application must be filled online

You must be able to prove to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection [DIBP] that you meet the following key Australian student visa requirements and proving to GTE complaint:

  • Valid Passport
  • Confirmation of Enrolment [COE]: It is a letter of offer from your university where you wish to study. It is in the form of an online code
  • Financial requirements: Evidence of sufficient funds to cover tuition, travel, and living costs
  • English proficiency requirements: IELTS, TOFEL, iBT, PTE Academic, and CAE
  • Health Declaration: Every student needs to get a medical check-up by an approved panel physician on the DIBP website.
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Custodianship/Guardianship if the applicant is under 18 years
  • Genuine Temporary Entrant [GTE] requirements: You may be asked to attend an interview at your nearest Australian embassy to demonstrate a genuine intention to stay in Australia temporarily for studying
Visa Time Processing

Usually, it takes 4-5 weeks to process the application once it was filed, depending on the assessment of the education provider. If the duration of the course you have applied for is more than 10 months and completes by mid of December [Australian academic year] than your visa will expire on 15th of march of the corresponding year, whereas if the duration of your course is more than 10 months and completes in between January and October. then your visa will be valid for 2 months following the completion of the applied course.
